Renaissance South LA, Inc.

Case Management Services

  • Tessie Cleveland Community Services (2013–Present)
    We partnered with Tessie Cleveland to deliver harm-reduction-based care to at-risk youth and families in supportive, community-based settings. To date, 12 youth have been served through wraparound services and mentoring.
  • Tibia’s House (2013–2018)
    Provided intensive outpatient therapy to over 100 clients with co-occurring disorders in sober living homes. Services included clinical therapy and housing-first support to help individuals regain stability.
  • Harvard House
    Delivered clinical support to young survivors of sex trafficking and abuse, focusing on trauma recovery and empowerment. We have served 10 clients through this partnership.

Re-entry Services

  • Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS):
    Renaissance South LA, Inc. provides court-referred services such as DUI courses, Anger Management, and Substance Abuse programs to help clients regain custody of their children.
  • Department of Probation (DPO):
    We assist probation clients with career coaching, employment placement, and re-entry support to help them successfully reintegrate into society.

Other Services

Provided therapeutic services to the indigent population on skid row monthly, we help to provide schizophrenia screenings, STD and HIV awareness and prevention. Overall, Renaissance South LA, Inc. employed several clinical specialists, and we had caseloads that exceed 60 to 100 clients per month. Each counselor and I were responsible for intakes, treatment plans and progress reports for courts, helping clients with chronic illness, mental health issues or life-altering conditions to gain access to rehabilitation programs and other community services.


Our services included but were not limited to meeting with clients and their families, connecting formally incarcerated clients with employment services and maintaining consistent communication with clients to assess their wellbeing and make changes to their treatment plan as needed.

Overview

The Renaissance South LA, Inc. re-entry food service certification and job placement program provides individuals re-entering society after incarceration with a structured opportunity to succeed. The program begins with the fundamentals of cooking and baking, covering management and production skills. Participants receive hands-on training through a lab-based curriculum, and can earn national sanitation or other industry certifications. Job placement assistance is also provided.

Program Goals and Course Objectives

The goal of (RFSCJP) program is to reduce recidivism by equipping formerly incarcerated individuals with skills that lead to sustainable employment. By offering industry-recognized certifications, the program opens doors to meaningful careers in the food and sanitation industry.

Through this partnership, we have served children and families in normative and least-restrictive environments. Services are built on a harm reduction model to ensure quality care and measurable outcomes. Wrap-around services include mentorship, coaching, and community-based rehabilitation.

Harvard House focuses on treating young victims of sex trafficking and abuse. Renaissance South LA, Inc. provided weekly clinical services to girls experiencing self-harm, trauma, and co-occurring disorders, focusing on healing and empowerment.
